Krug Park is located in Saint Joseph at the northernmost end of Parkway St. Joseph. It has extensive landscaping and flowers, and features structures in the style of the Italian Renaissance. Krug, a family that donated 140 acres in 1936 to the park, gave the park its current layout and size. Over the years the park has had many additions such as a castle-like playground and a wading area. The park is also home one of Northwest Missouri's most extensive outdoor light displays.

Krug Park's entry is marked by a stone conservatory and a gateway. Krug Park opened its doors on May 6, 1902. Krug Park was home to alligators as well as exotic animals. There were also "Robidoux Cabin" and old war cannons. This cabin was falsely claimed to have been owned by Joseph Robidoux.

Krug Park is a favorite attraction in St. Joseph. Krug Park transforms into a magical, lighted palace during the holidays. You can visit the park free of charge. To support upkeep and the creation of new exhibits, donations will be accepted. This park receives more than 100,000 visitors each year.
